Entry Requirements

There are no academic entry requirements for this qualification. Students are required to provide their Unique Student Identifier (USI) which we can assist with, photo identification and meet the language, literacy and numeracy requirements. 

Course Overview

This qualification is for those who want to work in the community or in a residential setting, following a customised plan to give person-centred assistance to individuals who may need it due to ageing, disability or other circumstances.

Work involves using discretion and judgement in relation to individual support as well as taking responsibility for their own outputs. Workers have a range of factual, technical and procedural knowledge, as well as some theoretical knowledge of the concepts and practices required to provide person-centred support.

After successfully completing this nationally accredited qualification, you will be competent in the skills required to work as a:
- Aged Care Worker
- Home Care Assistant
- Personal Caregiver                                              - Respite Care Worker

Training Delivery Mode

This course is predominantly classroom based. Training is delivered through our Registered Training Organisation: Gateway Training Academy RTO ID 32305.

Recommended Course Structure

The CHC33015 Certificate III in Individual Support (Ageing) requires your employees to complete 13 units of competencies: seven (7) core and six (6) elective units.

  • CHCCCS025 Support relationships with carers and families
  • CHCHCS001 Provide home and community support services
  • CHCCCS011 Meet personal support needs
  • CHCAGE005 Provide support to people living with dementia
  • CHCAGE001 Facilitate the empowerment of older people
  • CHCPAL001 Deliver care services using a palliative approach
Eligibility For Government Funding

You are eligible for a subsidised training place under the NSW Smart and Skilled Program if you are:

  • an Australian citizen, Australian permanent resident, humanitarian visa holder or New Zealand citizen
  • no longer at school
  • living or working in New South Wales
  • 15 years and over
